CALLE POSSE

 

A watercolor master based in Boras, Sweden.

Calle Posse was born in Borås and has, with few exceptions, lived his entire life in this increasingly beautiful city. ”I have been painting and drawing since I reached the wallpaper in my parents home” explains Calle with a mischievous smile.

After several years as an art teacher at the Montessori school in Borås, Calle graduates as an architect at Chalmers University of Technology. ”Watercolour painting has been a dear friend during my time as a student of architecture, but primarily as an instrument for producing sketches”, continues Calle.

Only in recent years have Calle Posse started to work with more elaborate watercolor projects. This as a stimulating contrast and complement to the more advanced computer visualizations which tend to be quite photorealistic lacking life.

Calles watercolor techniques are based mainly on dry-on-dry or dry-on-wet to get better control over the details. Most of the work he does in his studio is based on photography since his watercolor technique is not so easy to apply outdoors or with moving subjects.

The motifs that Calle Posse are intriqued by are often in his neighborhood or common things and people that interest him. Sometimes it is very simple, he just finds the innate design of an object beautiful and interesting.
